Showfields Excaliber (Arthur) What an amazing little horse I have and how lucky I am to work with Arthur as he is developing from a young just broken in 4 year old. He is so like his mother (Showfields Sunrise GP) and has movement like his father (Sundays Xtra App) I am really excited to see how talented he is but at the moment he is still growing in fits and starts. Really, really, growing ---bum up ---- forehand up --- bum up you know how it goes !! anyway watch this space for updates how Arthur is doing in his education I will have pictures soon. |
Great Performance at NI Championships 2012 for Showfields Crusader in the Grand Prix Two tests over 60%, a second placing from one judge giving us 65% wow !!!!! and a qualification for both NZ Champs and Horse of the Year made for a satisfying weekend at the beginning of January. Thirteen Grand Prix horses in the class and we came 6th overall in the Championship Table. How proud I was of Crusie who showed a much calmer and workmanlike attitude to his work in the competition arena and we had plenty of compliments from judges and watchers which was fantastic. I had some great help too from Tania Maguire who unfortunately could not take her horse due to injury but stepped up to be a very able assistant and groom. Her daughter Sam, at just 11 years old, kept us in line and focused on the job, thanks Sam. Looking forward to the NZ Champs coming up in March. |
Well done Tania Maguire and Showfields Limerick at Kihikihi Tania and Riki had a great day at Waikato Spring Day last Sunday with a second placing in the elementary and over 66% what a good score!!. They are really starting to click as a team and showing great work. |

Grand Prix Northland Champions 2012 Showfields Crusader what a star. 11th & 12th February saw the Northland Dressage Championships 2012 and we went with the aim of consolidating at GP level. Two tests both scoring an average of 63% with one judge giving us 66% was really pleasing. Cruise showed he was more confident and the tests had more flow from one movement to the next. His piaffe and passage got 8's and boy can he sit !!! This was our first championship at this level and although we have so much more to consolidate, I feel now that we are heading in the right direction. I have to say thank you to a very hard working committee who put on such a wonderful event and were friendly and helpful all weekend. We will definitely be back to Northland thanks to all there. |
