Learning Objective:
To provide participants with an awareness of a better understanding of the problematic settings they are likely to face in their work. By the end of the programme participants should be able to:
Identify the range of problems likely to be faced by team leaders, and to identify those to which they are most subject. Identify the range of skills needed by team leaders, identify their own skill range, and to establish a plan for their own development as team leaders.
Target Audience:
Experienced Team Leaders, newly appointed Team Leaders, people who undertake an 'acting' role, and people who may be promoted in the future.
Content:
Participants are presented with realistic managerial situations and the programme tries to help them use and apply management skills in a familiar context. Simulation - participants experience a board simulation as the main vehicle for learning where they are responsible for operating a business in a competitive environment. A range of exercises are provided which simulate situations that team leaders are likely to face. The centre focuses on the three main skill sets of management - people skills, conceptual skills, and technical skills.

Format: Workgroup interactive, Board simulation, Team Exercises.
